During my election campaign, I said that politicians should put their money where their mouth is, they should be passionate about something, and most importantly, they should show leadership and have purpose.
That’s why I donate a sum of my Councillor allowance to the charity CALM – the only charity in the UK dedicated to preventing male suicide, the biggest killer of young men.
But I am prepared to go much further then this. I am happy to announce that later this year in October, I will be running the Birmingham Half Marathon (13.1 miles) to raise money for the cause.
