With Your City Councillor Simon Morrall
During my election I said I wanted to put Frankley on the map. I certainly didn’t expect to be doing it like this! Last Wednesday it was announced that the South African Variant of Covid-19 had been found in our ward and urgent action was required to trace it’s origin, under the umbrella of ‘Operation […]
Support a Bike Park on Forestdale Games Court During my election in 2018, I mentioned that growing up I used to skateboard on Great Park and how this gave me something to do, kept me out of trouble, and gave me a purpose. I talked about how our young people, in particular our young boys, […]
If you are a mother of a boy. If you are a sister to a brother. If you are a wife to a husband. If you are a daughter to a father. Then please watch this and share for #internationalmensday – thank you. https://www.facebook.com/FrankleyForward/videos/689436845298902/
I recently challenged the Labour-run council over the impact GDPR was having on the transparency of the Audit Committee. Anyone who runs a small business knows how damaging these EU data protection laws are and they are now being used to hide information from the public. Most recently the identity of a senior officer who […]
Finally, after two and a half years, the large potholes in Great Park are getting attention. But it shouldn’t have taken this long! I explain some of the battles we have with highways and express my own personal opinion on the contract. #FrankleyForward https://www.facebook.com/FrankleyForward/videos/653488568893730/
Over the weekend I invited Gary Sambrook MP down to Great Park for a litter pick around The Lanes and Rezza before launching a campaign to demand Birmingham City Council finally install some bins and better street scene around the area. This campaign was originally planned for Spring but we had to suspend all activity due to […]
Hollymoor is a local landmark that has been drastically under utilised for years due to a broken boiler system that the Council has dragged its feet repairing. Last year I asked staff to request three separate quotations from the private sector, quoting £60,000 – £90,000. Eventually, the Labour Council came back with prices from their […]
🎊 🇬🇧 FOUR YEARS AGO! WE MADE HISTORY! 🇬🇧 🎊 Four years ago we took on the establishment and won! Not because we dislike Europe, but because we dislike the EU. Not because we dislike foreigners, but because we’re open to the world. Not to become poorer, but to promote free trade around the globe. Brexit is a golden […]
Binmen continue to neglect Frankley It’s been one year since I was elected to represent you, and I’ll never forget the ITV news interview: “Do you feel the bin strike of 2017 helped your campaign” I responded “Bin strike!? Ha! The bins have always been terrible in Frankley!!” In September I stood up at city […]
Your local Labour MP Richard Burden has candidly wrote in the Birmingham Mail that he openly supports a second EU referendum, and that he would STILL vote to remain in the EU. Despite his own constituency (that’s you) voting overwhelming to leave the EU in 2016. Frankley, Longbridge and, Northfield voted by almost double to […]
There it is! Last night Labour councillors voted to approve a congestion charge on private vehicles, which could cost the poorest motorist up £2,700 a year to travel in and out of Birmingham city centre! Despite only 11.5% of Brummies being in support of a “clean air zone” following their own consultation, they went ahead […]
Simon, dont know if you remember but 2/3weeks ago we had a doorstep conversation at my home in Frankley, discussing brexit, the bin crisis, gang crime etc. As a lifelong Labour voter i can tell you that i voted for you this evening.
Hi Simon, firstly congratulations on your win!! Fair play to you & your hard work knocking doors in the area. I just wanted you to know that there is alot of support for you on there too, even off some labour voters! Once again congratulations on your win xx
Thanks Simon good hear from you. Congratulations on your win. This is first time we have ever had a respond to message from any our councillors. Just after you came on knocked on our door. The previous councillor turned up the following day. When we questioned about our contact by phone and email he denied ever receiving them.
Hello mate !! Firstly well done, a true win for us !! Just wonderd if you had posted in rubery group on your win keep the labour lefties happy ! Well done again mate any support you need let me know !
Congratulations Simon – you were the only candidate who turned up at Hollymoor. I hope that we will be able to work together to improve the future for the residents of Frankley Great Park. I am a great believer in the potential of all.
Yes they actually came on Thursday morning and took everything the recycling and the big containers first time in months, I am keeping my eyes out along with other residents, Simon thank you for your help with this matter, I will update you in a couple of weeks to tell you either way how things are going.
I’d just like to say thanks for all your help with the bushes! It looks loads better. Thank you.
Simon showed more of an interest in a problem I had than the police did. At least he bothered to come and see me.
I really appreciate your reply and although I may not agree with your political beliefs I feel your response was markedly better than that of my MP.
Hello Just though I’d update you the council come today and said I need a new roof. They’ve put in for it to be done. Thanks so much for your help
