I simply cannot justify a pay rise, when the local economy is on it’s nees following a pandemic. It’s taxes generated by hard working local people that pay our wages in the public sector. I consider myself very lucky to be able to weather the pandemic on the public purse when 10 years ago I knew what it felt like to loose everything.
