Before the election, I campaigned for action on the historic Cock Inn Pub (built in 1811) which was set on fire by arsonists in October 2017.
Now, Malvern Homes Ltd. have applied for permission to demolish the former public house and build a care home, housing around 68 beds over three floors with a fourth lower floor for residents to socialise, opening onto a garden area.
It is a shame that developers cannot restore the historic building but overall this is good news.
Some residents have raised parking concerns as the development will only include a 23 space car park so I have raised these with planning for you.
Developers say at least 60 jobs will be created once opened which is welcomed for the area.
