There it is! Last night Labour councillors voted to approve a congestion charge on private vehicles, which could cost the poorest motorist up £2,700 a year to travel in and out of Birmingham city centre! Despite only 11.5% of Brummies being in support of a “clean air zone” following their own consultation, they went ahead anyway. Charging private vehicles was NEVER mandated by government, this was a CHOICE made by the Labour administration!
Remember this next time Labour claim to be “for the many not the few!” because I will never let them forget it!

The labour Government closed down MG Rover, now this Labour Council are coming after your cars!
Leader of the Conservative Group Cllr Robert Alden, who studied air pollution control and management at the University of Birmingham, said “Labour’s congestion charge won’t actually improve air quality, its just a simple solution for a party more interested in looking like they are doing something, rather than think outside the box to find a solution to help Birmingham.”
Conservative Counciller Simon Morrall, said
“This charge is nothing but a tax on the poor, especially residents in Frankley Great Park, who may have to travel through Birmingham on a daily basis. Again Labour are completely out of touch with working class people. How can they say ‘for the many not the few’, when this charge will clearly only bennifit the few!”
Time and again, numerous reviews of the London congestion charge have highlighted that the charge has failed to decreased air pollution and hasn’t resulted in any improvement in air quality.
