Residents will be aware that the temporary lights at the end of Boleyn road are BACK UP again this week (that lasted long), this time on the opposite side of the road. I emailed highways (again) and I’ve had a response stating this is a separate contractor, Seven Trent, doing important water works in relation to the new development.
Today, I went to visit the site manager Gary and had a personal tour of the site by project manager Peter. They both told me they would have loved to have had water weeks ago but Seven Trent are a law upon their own. They have no control over their work but have been given a time frame of 7th – 11th December for the work to be completed.
They also informed me that the site is due to be completed and opened in January 2022, at which point the City Council will perform a road saftey audit on New Inns Lane where the pot holes should hopefully be fixed. Highways have also said they normally encourage separate contractors to complete work at the same time to avoid inconvenience.
