Community Volunteer Outdoor Activity Groups

Local Litter Picking Groups in B45 area – each hold events monthly.
Events usually start at 10:00. Equipment can be provided if you advise us you’re coming. Wesuggest you wear sturdy footwear and gloves.
Please see Facebook or email janeybeth2@btinternet.com for more information.

Rubery Wombles – Litter picking in a group is a wonderful way to get some gentle exercise, fresh air and to meet new friends.
We regularly litter pick around several different areas of Rubery, including busier paved routes and local lanes. You are welcome to bring children to litter picks in Rubery’s parks and three play areas. We can provide litter pickers, bag hoops, hi-vis vests and bags.

For information please see our Facebook group, or contact Jane on 07754 888393 or Frances on 07762 445689

Rednal Litter Busters – Please see our Facebook group for details of upcoming Events. We have litter pickers, bag rings and hi-vis vests for volunteers to borrow but please let us know in advance, via the comments so that we know what to bring with us.

Frankley Litter Pickers – Please see our Facebook group for details of upcoming Events. We have litter pickers, bag rings and hi-vis vests for volunteers to borrow but please let us know in advance via the comments so that we know what to bring with us.

Great Park Community Litter Pick – Great Park Community litter pick group was set up during the first lockdown in 2020. This was a direct result of many years of fly tipping across the B31 5 area. Over a period of 3 weeks 160 black bags were filled with litter and a number of fly tipped items were reported to the council for collection.

A monthly group came together on Sunday mornings at 08:30 – 10:00 to maintain the cleaner area we had achieved. More recently, people litter pick in smaller groups or individually, as we no longer litter pick on Sunday mornings due to other commitments. However we might be able to form a larger group again if we have more volunteers. Most of our equipment is loaned out but we do have a few spares.

The best way to get involved is to look at our Facebook Group.
