In December I seconded a motion at Full Council on the first ever UK-wide strategy to the delivery of support for veterans. The strategy identifies six key areas where support is most needed over the next ten years: community and relationships, employment and skills, health and wellbeing, finance and debt, housing, and contact with the law. One of the highlights of the year for me was being invited by the Lord Mayor to sit on the grandstand opposite the cenotaph on Colmore Row and pay tribute to our brilliant military on Remembrance Sunday. These men and women don’t just defend our country, they defend our British values and represent the very best our country has to offer. Thank you for everyone who serves, I will always fight for you at City Council, just like you are prepared to fight for me! God bless you, God bless this country, and God save the Queen!
I'm proud to second a motion to support our veterans, the first ever UK-wide strategy to delivery support for those who serve, and their families, in every aspect of their lives.

It was an absolute honour and a privilege to witness the centenary end of WWI and pay tribute to our fabulous military this morning in Birmingham. In what was suppose to be the war to end all wars, we must never forget their sacrifice. They gave their tomorrow so we can live today. Thank you to everyone who serves.
