Tireless local Campaigner Simon Morrall has been taking action against the strikes and cleaning up our streets!
“The Labour Council has completely failed to deliver a proper service for residents. Some roads in Frankley and Great Park didn’t have collections of household waste for over three weeks. This is a health hazard and totally unacceptable. While many who paid for garden waste collections haven’t been getting the service either. Add to this the insult that small business and sole traders have to pay £75 to take a van to the tip, it’s an absolute scandal!”
The strike has cost tax payers £40,000 a day while last year the Council ran up an overspend of almost £10m in the street cleaning department. This is totally unacceptable and residents deserve a proper service. The Council need to urgently get the bins cleared and all the side waste that has built up due to the strike cleared.
We must kick out this appalling Council next year or this will happen all over again.
