I challenge the cabinet member for eduction and skills alongside the Leader of the City Council, about their non-existent marketing and communication strategy when it comes to promoting opportunities to the young and disenfranchised, especially those from deprived communities. According to recent reports, Frankley is one of the top four wards in the city for youth unemployment, with 12.9% of 18-24 years not in employment or training. Despite this, our skills show in January showed there was a real appetite from young people, but I feel the Council simply isn't doing enough to promote the opportunities that are out there.
