The Cock Inn pub, Built in 1811, has been left empty for three years and has been the target of anti-social behaviour and arson. Local residents have been complaining to me that it’s an eye sore. Northfield Fire Station Commander Lee Baker tweeted last October, that empty buildings like this present dangers for the public and firefighters. We understand a planning application was refused in 2016 due to Birmingham Council’s concerns around tree preservation. In 2017 this application was to be resubmitted but was withdrew. We urge Birmingham City Council and the owners of the site to sit down and come up with a solution to the sites future.
