THE #1 LOCAL ISSUE
Residents of Frankley, Hollymoor and Great Park have been complaining about y tipping for a very long time, around almost every corner in the ward you’ll see a fly tipping penalty notice board, but the problem never goes away. It has become the primary issue brought up on the doorstep. But rather then use the common sense of encouraging sole traders and small businesses to dispose of waste responsibly, the Labour run Birmingham City Council, have made the conscious choice, to increase the charges and
reduce the hours that businesses can dispose of waste. This will inevitably encourage rogue traders to dispose of their waste in unconventional ways – such as y tipping – which a ects areas like Frankley, Hollymoor and Great Park. All this action does is turn ordinary people into criminals by making it hard for them to dispose of their waste – and with strikes happening it is a going to be a whole lot harder. Once again, Labour are completely out of touch with the reality of every day life. When will they learn that prevention is always better then cure. If you want y tipping to stop, you have to help ordinary small businesses to dispose of their waste, not penalise them.
