I promised that I would introduce clean-up crews and ensure hedges were maintained periodically.
Despite best efforts to tell me this couldn’t be done, either because of “wild life protection”, or how my predecessor found this job difficult, I manged to pull through. We now see most hedges in the ward are now cut or are being cut! (except for private houses).
Hollymoor, Tessal lane, New Street, Wide Acres, Rubery Lane, Great park, and yes, Oaklands Way, where I even cleared the pavement moss myself!
Next time you walk about and notice a nice cut hedge, remember, it wasn’t like that last year!
