“A NEW LOW!” Not my words, but the words of my colleague Cllr Jenkins as the Home to School Transport (SEND) report, commissioned by us at Full Council, following a string of child welfare scandals, had been REDACTED before being presented to us on the Audit Committee today.
Cllr Jenkins: “Let’s just summarise. We, the Councillors, instructed that there should be a report. A firm of lawyers was paid to produce the report. We were then told that we couldn’t see the report we had instructed. They then denied Audit Committee access to the report but instead wrote a report on the report to give to Audit Committee.”
